Challenge Poverty Week 2026

Challenge Poverty Week has a great and varied number of events and activities being held across South Lanarkshire by many groups and organisations.
Below is a list of events and activities that are taking place on Saturday 10 October.
Event/Activity: Health and Wellbeing Drop-In
Location: Hamilton Regent Centre
Date/Time: 1-4pm
Description: Come along to our bookbug session and introduce the kids to the fantastic world of books, which will open up their imaginations to whole new worlds. Great for enhancing kids imaginations and a lot of fun too! Hamilton Information Project for Youth (HIPY) will host an event that will be comprised of an information market-place with other partner organisations, including COVEY Befriending, with a focus on ways to support young peoples’ financial health and wellbeing. The event will be held in the Regent Shopping Centre, Hamilton and as part of the event, HIPY will be provide FREE giveaways, including period products, toiletries and more. As an information service, we will offer advice and support as well as sign-posting to other organisations in order to make young people better informed about the services and support available to them in their communities. HIPY believes that information is power – making young people aware of the services and support available to them empowers them to achieve more positive outcomes in their lives and their wider communities.
